The Soča Valley is one of the most beautiful waterfall areas in Slovenia. We will mention waterfalls that can be reached on foot, by bike and on our guided tour through the Soča valley– from Tolmin to Log pod Mangart. We really love these locations and we keep visiting them even if they are not right in our backyard. They are quite easily accessible for families too. Join us on our guided tours such as Julian Alps trip.
KOZJAK WATERFALL
The Kozjak waterfall is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the Soča valley. It is located near the historical town of Kobarid. There are actually six waterfalls, but we as visitors only see the last two. The visit is best in spring, autumn and winter because of the beautiful colors of nature and quietness. In summer we recommend that you visit it in the morning or evening hours. The Kozjak waterfall has a drop of 15 meters and the water collects in a crystal clear pool. It is a short walk to the waterfall, so comfortable shoes are recommended.
Kozjak Waterfall is a serene and relaxing spot, offering a peaceful atmosphere. On the way to the waterfall, you will admire the emerald river Soča, the suspension bridge and views of the surrounding hills.
Entrance: 5€ per person, families and student discounts
BOKA WATERFALL
The Boka Waterfall is another natural attraction in the Soča Valley, known for its impressive height and beauty. It’s located near the town of Bovec in the Julian Alps area and is one of the most watery waterfalls in Slovenia with a height of around 108 meters with a single powerful cascade. The Boka waterfall is carved into a stone karst wall, so the view of the waterfall is really magnificent
We recommend visiting Boka Waterfall during the spring time or after a heavy rainfall when the water flow is at its peak, creating cascades down the cliff face.

VIRJE WATERFALL
The Virje Waterfall is a unique natural attraction with cyrstal-clear pool, located near the town of Bovec in the Soča Valley. The water cascades down a series of rock formations, creating a picturesque scene. In spring and autumn, this is a place where you can relax and enjoy nature. In the summer months, the cold water will refresh you just by sitting by the emerald pool.
Access: a short hike from the parking area in Plužna village above Bovec is relatively easy and enjoyable.

SOPOTA WATERFALL
Not far away from Tolmin there’s a pretty waterfall called Sopota. It’s a 62 m high waterfall that falls over a high rock. The place is not well known so you can expect a quiet walk trough the forest to the waterfall. There’s a beautiful viewpoint just few meters from the waterfall and it’s a perfect place to just rest and recharge your batteries.
There are other waterfalls as well: Krampež and Sopot near Drežnica, Šunik waterfall area, Zapotok in Trenta Valley…
