The sun kissed Vipava Valley (Slovene: Vipavska dolina) is a picturesque and fertile valley located in SW Slovenia. The valley is dotted with stone-built villages located on hill tops, where one can count more wine cellars than family homes and where narrow streets and squares are often swept by the north »burja« – bora winds. The area is famous for its white wines made from local grape varieties like Zelen and Pinela.
Wine tasting is a must! From elegant – natural wines to conventional wines. Exploring the wine tradition of two different philosophies…
After wine tasting we will continue our journey to the upper valley region of Karst where we will visit the charming village of Štanjel – considered as one of the oldest settlements in Karst. On the way back to the valley we will do a stop over in Kanal ob Soči with its famous bridge over the Soča river.
Departure locations: Bovec, Kobarid, Tolmin. Other towns on request (Bled).
Best time to travel: All year around.
Duration of the trip: Full day (from 6 up to 8h).
