The Soča river is a popular European kayaking destination. Offering varying levels of difficulty (from I to V), the rapids are suitable for beginners as well as advanced kayakers who prefer a technically demanding course.

GUIDED KAYAK TRIP ON SOČA RIVER

Kayaking down the Soča river is an incredible experience, offering kayakers a unique connection with nature’s beauty and tranquility. The emerald water provides a stunning backdrop for gliding along, creating an atmosphere that’s both serene and exhilarating.

Describing it as a “proper chill” on hot summer days kayaking on the Soča river can be a refreshing and relaxing activity, offering a way to beat the heat while immersing oneself in the beauty of the surroundings. On the other hand it can also be a great escape even on rainy days, allowing participants to forget about gloomy weather and instead embrace the peacefulness of the river.

Kayaking on the Soča river combines relaxation, adventure, and a deep connection with nature, providing a memorable and rejuvenating journey for kayakers of all levels.

GUIDED KAYAK TRIP

Adrenaline lovers who are looking for a one-time kayaking experience on the Soča river, we can recommend you to try our guided kayak descent, where you will paddle the easiest part of Soča river, together with an experienced and professional kayak guide. You will not only glide on the mystical stretches and secret corners of the river, but you will also be able to experience the wilderness of whitewater rapids.

Section of the trip:
1. Čezsoča – Boka Hotel – 6km
2. Golobar – Čezsoča – 5,5km

Duration time: 1,5h on the river, all together 2,5h

Level of difficulty: I-II

Max. people in the group: 6-8 person

Price: 62€ per person

In the peak season kayak trips are available every day at 8:30 and 16:30. During the low season you can decide between 10:00 or 14:00.

GUIDED KAYAK TRIP SECTIONS:

Section: 1. Čezsoča – Boka hotel – 6km

For beginners and the ones who just want to enjoy the river on their own we take you to the panorama section – it is a great and safe way to experience the thrill of white water kayaking. The kayak adventure is all about having fun while travelling through the beautiful panorama part on Soča River. In this section you can enjoy clear water and some perfect rocks for jumping into the emerald pools. We finish the trip at the Boka hotel with a view over the biggest Slovenian waterfall Boka and highest Slovenian mountain Triglav.

Section: 2. Golobar – Čezsoča – 5,5km

For people seeking for more adventure and with pre-knowledge we can take you to the upper section of Soča River. The start is right after the third gorge -Zmuklica and we finish in Čezsoča after 1.5 hours on the river. The water here is faster, has more rapids so you need to have some pre-knowledge in kayaking to be able to do this part. The guide is with you to take care of your safety, showing you the lines you have to do and make sure you have fun and enjoy your way down to the finish point in Čezsoča.

The best way to experience the Soca valley for sure is with a bike tour. We choose Discover Soča Tours and our guide Miha did an exellent job on the tour showing us almost all of the important points that the valley is offering. It is not difficult and I can recommend it for everyone to do it. Good job!

We had the most amazing three days with Miha and Mateja exploring the Soča Valley and beyond.Both Miha and Mateja are very experienced and knowledgeable drivers and guides, who go out of their way to make clients happy whilst always providing useful information and insights on the country and region.They are of course experts in the Soča Valley and surrounding area, and are able to organise outdoor activities for guests as well as local tours.In our case Mateja took us around the region in a driving tour, including accompanying us to exclusive wine tastings in the Goriska Brda region and a short trip to Italy in Friuli.They are also experts in Slovenia in general: Miha drove us around the country to and from Llubjana to see some of the best known sights such as Bled, as well as a few amazing off the beaten track locations.Finally they can organise very reasonably priced transfers to/from Ljubljana or Venice and more…We would highly recommend them without hesitation !

We did the Bovec E-bike guided tour and saw so many interesting points on our way such as Virje and Boka waterfall, some suspension bridges over Soca river and Soca gorge with great Lepena valley. I can say the best way to explore Soca valley for sure. Do not miss the adventure with E-bikes when visiting the valley!

We had a tour from Bled hotel Triglav to Soca valley and all around Julian Alps with an exceptional driver and tour guide Miha. He told us so many things about the places we visit in Soca valley such us Soca gorge, Waterfall Kozjak, fortress Kluze, history of WW1, Slovenia and their history. We arranged an extensive tour that showed us parts of Slovenia we would never have discovered ourselves. Our tour guide Miha was an amazing driver and very knowledgeable with the history of the areas we visited. Our highlights were Trenta valley with Soca gorge, the Italian WW1 trenches and Tolmin gorge. We also really enjoyed the Goriska brda wine tasting experience. Really enjoyed the Soca valley guide tour with Mateja, she kept us organised and gave us good information about each stop. Visited many stunning places that it was not easy to get to by public transport in a short trip. Activities felt safe and well organised - I’d never tried rafting before and it was a lot of fun. I had a wonderful day with Miha on the Soca valley guided tour. So many beautiful views around the Triglav National Park and the rafting was so much fun! Our group of 3 had an amazing tour with Miha. We saw all the major highlights of the area and Miha took amazing photos of our group! Two of us had never ridden an e-bike and Miha did a great job ensuring we felt comfortable on the bikes and tailored the path to our level. We were delighted with how far we rode and the places we visited. 10 out 10 would do it again!!

Great guide who kindly arranged all of our activities at Soca Valley….. kids loved it and we had the best time. Miha is a great guy who accommodated all our needs and he personally took us on a great bicycle tour with pit stops to refresh in the river which we thoroughly enjoyed!!Definitely recommend Discover Soca Tours if you are at Soca Valley, on our last night he turned up to join us for a drink at our hotel and handed us a little gift, a lovely gesture on his behalf .Thanks Miha !! We did the Soca valley day tour from Goriška brda and we enjoyed the tour very much. Seen a lot of the Julian Alps, the fortress of Kluze, Soca river with the big gorge and beautiful waterfalls of Virje and Boka. If you are in the region I recommend the day tour to Soca valley a lot!

My girlfriend and I took a guided tour of the Julian Alps, we were in Bled, but they came to pick us up and we did this beautiful tour. We saw amazing waterfalls, large lakes, some incredible mountain scenery and finally the amazing Soca River with its gorge. This incredible nature is worth seeing.

We could not have been happier with our tour with Mateja! We only had one day in the Soča valley and she planned a tour to make sure we saw as much as possible. We had lunch in a charming town, went to a natural wine shop, and had the most magical day exploring. We learned so much from Mateja, and she went above and beyond by sharing photos and tips for the rest of our trip after the tour as well. From the first email to the final goodbye, I felt well supported and looked after by Mateja and Miha.As a young female solo traveller, travelling in off season, it would have been impossible to see everything I wanted using public transport. Soča valley is absolutely amazing if you are an adrenaline frick. We used Hotel Boka as our base and Miha form the agency in the hotel arrange some of the activities for us. The highlight was for sure the canyon Fratarica. Don't miss it!
